# Check the price

Check what an audit costs before you start it. A price check creates nothing and costs nothing.

## Ask your agent

> Use Zero Cool to price a full audit of this repository. Show me the price, the resolved scope and any warnings. Do not launch it.

When the workspace returns a balance, the agent compares the price with it. It launches only after you approve the price.
A Viewer checks prices through an agent using the CLI, or through the CLI directly, and cannot read the balance.

## In the portal

You need the Member or Admin role.

1. Select **New audit**. Choose **Audit type** and **Audit mode** at the top of the one-page form.
   Choose Agile or Deep. Full audits default to Deep. Diff reviews and fix reviews default to Agile.
2. Select the repository and commit. Under **Scope**, use **Paste in scope** or the file tree, then select **Confirm source**.
3. Read **Price** for the selected mode and scope. Check the credits, workspace balance and any warnings.
   An included fix review costs no credits. A funded workspace shows its available shared credits.
4. Open **Advanced options** to add context files, set **Targeted audit focus** or choose **Report format**.
5. Select **Review and start audit** to open **Confirm audit details**.
   Check the source, scope, mode and price. Select **Start audit** only when you approve them.

**Start audit** reserves the credits. To stop before launch, close the confirmation or leave the page. Nothing is charged.
Complete is available only to Zero Cool staff.

## CLI

`zerocool launch` shows the price again and asks you to confirm.
A coding agent must show you the price and wait for approval. After approval, it runs `zerocool launch --yes`.
Only a Member or Admin can launch. A Viewer can check prices, but sees no balance.
