# Get started

Ask your coding agent to run the CLI commands in these guides. Approve the browser sign-in when it asks.

Zero Cool audits your code for security vulnerabilities. By default, it proves each finding with a proof-of-concept test.
You start audits, read findings and manage your team in the web app or with the CLI, including through a coding agent.

## Install the CLI

The CLI needs Python 3.9 or later. Install it and sign in:

```sh
curl -fsSL https://app.zerocool.ai/cli/install.sh | sh
export PATH="$HOME/.local/bin:$PATH"
zerocool auth login
zerocool auth status
```

The installer puts `zerocool` in `~/.local/bin` and adds that directory to your shell's startup files.
The `export` line updates your current shell.
The login command creates and saves a new API key. Browser approval activates it. You do not need to create or copy a key first.
It prints a link. Open it where you are signed in.
Choose the workspace scope and role, then select **Approve**.
Choose the **member role** to start audits, or the **viewer role** for read-only access and quotes.

To save an existing key, use `zerocool auth login --with-key-stdin`.
[API keys](/docs/api-keys) explains safe storage and rotation.
Run `zerocool update` to install the latest release.

## List your workspaces

```sh
zerocool workspaces
```

This command lists accessible workspaces and GitHub connections. It creates no audit and spends no credits.
If no workspace appears, check your membership and the key's scope.

## Use your coding agent

A coding agent can use the CLI to configure audits, check prices and read findings.
After installing and signing in to the CLI, ask your agent:

> Use Zero Cool to quote a full audit of this repository. Show me the scope and the price, and wait for my approval before you launch it.

Each [common flow](/docs/flows) starts with a prompt that you can give your agent.
Your agent reads these docs with `zerocool docs`.

## Use the web app

1. [Sign in](https://app.zerocool.ai/login), or select **Create account**. You can also use **Sign in with GitHub** or **Sign in with Google**.
2. Open your workspace or create a new workspace.
3. Select **New audit**, choose your code, and check the price on the **Review** step.

The web app uses your signed-in session. It does not need an API key.
